With an angular face, mostly gaunt save for where his cheeks round out and the rounded pount of his chin and sophisticated features, Christian Crawford looks like he was born from old money. Literally, a crisp hundred dollar bill was his mother and a shiny silver half dollar claimed him as it's seed. He had features of both, crisp lines in his face, sharp edges, a gorgeous jaw line but rounded out in the correct places like the silver dollar. He looked, and would admit to looking, expensive. It was possibly a bit vain, maybe a slight over exaggeration. But didn't the money that lined ones pocket also enhance their appearance?
Dark eyes and dark hair, often misintepreted as any shade of normal brown or bronze due to the light, only enhanced his features. It was often kept short but not military short and was never long enough to pull back or do anything crazy with. Normalcy was important. Despite that, however, Christian wasn't always a fan of keeping his face clean shaven. There was nothing wrong with a little bit of stubble now and then. He found that it only highlighted his look of sophistication and importance. And, honestly, if he varied the time in which he allowed the stubble to go and the time he kept it clean shaven people would notice. Being noticed was all the rage.
character personality !
likes • Sex, money, indie movies, rock music, beautiful women, traveling, being mistaken for his father.
dislikes • Girls who cling, double meanings, getting caught doing anything unsavory by someone who would use it against him, responsibility, people who don't fit.
habits/quirks • Chris will often click his tongue or mumble a "mmm" when thinking or faced with something he truly wants. He doesn't notice that he does it, but he certainly does.
fears • CHANGE - If it's not broken, don't fix it. Christian thinks that nothing should be different, ever. Mostly because he is a big fan of being on top. When there is change in the world there is also the possibility that he will go under. Not being in control of things terrifies the boy. Though he won't admit it, facing change is one of the hardest things he could imagine.
UNWANTED RESPONSIBILITY - Along with change often comes unwanted responsibility. Although he acts like he couldn't care less, having so much piled onto his plate scares Christian. An inability to appropriately handle the responsibilities and tasks tossed his way frustrates him. What if he can't do it right? What if he messes it all up? Things like unplanned children and animals as gifts are feared highly by the male. Under his care, they'd most likely die or be neglected, as awful as that sounded.
dreams • TO INHERIT EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING - With big business comes big responsibility, right? Never a fan of big responsibility, Christian hopes that when it comes time for him to inherit his parents company that he will be able to reap the financial benefits and hire other people to work for him. A life left open to do with it what he pleased was the ultimate dream.
GAIN THE STATUS OF HIS FATHER - Held in high respect, the one person Christian looks up to more than anyone else is his father. To be able to be recognized and respected the way his father is would be one of Christian's main goals in life. Even better, if he could reach that status and have his father recognize it as well.
secrets • THAT HOMOSEXUAL EXPERIENCE - Christian doesn't talk about it and won't even acknowledge that it ever happened. It didn't go too far but it went far enough for him to never, ever, ever want to talk about it. Absolutely positive that no one knows about it, except of course the person it happened with, Chris is completely content keeping it secret.
Aside from that, almost everything Chris does is public knowledge.
overall • Charming, avoidant, educated, rude, manipulative, slick, misunderstood.
character history !
mother • Michelle Paszek-Crawford; 43; homemaker
father • Alexander Crawford; 47; Corporate Bigshot - owner of Crawford Tires
pets • Diedre; common goldfish
overall • Italian, English, Scottish, Polish - there was really only one place were all these different nationalities, and more, could melt together. Oh, sweet America, where great, great, great grandparents came to have better lives and where parents came together to become, well, parents, and have children who would, in turn, do the same. It was pure fate that the Crawford family, on the rise with a new family business - old money mixing with new money and investing in projects of the most intelligent until they struck gold with a special kind of material that would become all the rage in performance tires within the years to follow, moved to Manhattan, NYC. Because at the very same time the Crawford family was rising, the Paszek family was turning their daughters loose, finally old enough to date.
It seemed like a fairytale how Alexander and Michelle met and fell in love. Both families were thrilled when their children announced plans of their union, and were even more thrilled when the two, after only three years of wedded bliss, announced that they were going to have what would become their only son. There was no scandal in their marriage, no affair and no disappointment. The two were happily married with a baby boy dubbed Christian and were first in line to inherit the Crawford fortune. It seemed the perfect environment to raise a well rounded young man. And a well rounded young man was what Christian seemed to be, at first.
Always quick to his father's side, and never missing a smile towards his mother, Christian seemed to be a sweet young boy. He liked sitting in his father's office and arranging the papers on his desk as if that was his job and he was the important one. And, until his early adolescence, quite enjoyed tinkering around in his mother's garden with her. As time passed these tiny details, minus being quick to his father's side and ever sweet to his mother, began to fade away and as they did the Christian most people had come to know was revealed.
Whatever happened along the way to Christian to make him so incredibly full of himself was not the fault of his parents. They were lovely people, of high prestige, and if they ever ignored their son it was not purposeful. Maybe they just doted on the boy too much, gave him too much of what he asked for. Because, for an twenty two year old, he sure was a righteous asshole.
All this meant, though, was that Christian could never blame his behavior on his parents. It was all on him. Right down to every drink he ever had and every girl he ever slept with. An intentional target or not, to Christian (usually) a girl was nothing more than that. A target. A goal, even, if he wanted to be a little nicer.
Maybe he wasn't a nice boy, and maybe he wasn't willing to change.
But wasn't he worth a try?

If you’re bored then you’re boring, so Chuck Bass must’ve been the most boring person in the world. Spending the summer in the Hampton’s this year wasn’t going as fabulously as it had in the past. Sure, he was having fun, but only a certain amount of fun could be had when the only person who wanted to do anything (who wasn’t a complete and total knob and just out for the money that came with the Bass name or the sex, which was often a result of the money) was Serena Van der Woodsen, and only because she happened to need a drinking buddy. Not that Chuck minded too much, of course, at least it was something he was good at. Nate was scarce during the day, as was S, because chances were they were probably together. She didn’t seem to want much to do with him during the day, but it wasn’t a big deal to Chuck, not really. They’d been friends for a long time, long enough to know that Serena didn’t really consider them friends. He was simply a parasite she was fond of, he might jest that it was one that kept her skinny and beautiful, but chances were the only thing he would gain from that would be dirty looks.
Naturally, he should have been at the beach or doing some kind of shopping or something to enjoy his summer, but Chuck didn’t really feel like enjoying himself. As shocking as it was to learn that Chuck Bass did have feelings, it might be even more shocking to know that he also felt guilt. Guilt over a little something he might have done to one Queen Bee? Hmm. Listening to Bart Bass was a huge mistake. The need to rebel against the man was ridiculous and Chuck knew he couldn’t help himself, but jeopardizing Blair? Mistake, even if he wasn’t about to admit it to anyone. They were fated to one another, were they not? The Cruel Queen and her Slimy King? It was next to pathetic how much thought Chuck had put into this. But was he willing to admit his mistake? Certainly that was another story. Fittingly, along with this “guilt” he wasn’t admitting to, Chuck hadn’t done much sleezing either. Sure, there was some of his casual skeeze darting about the Hamptons this summer but nothing he couldn’t keep under control. He only dabbled in that hobby when his mind was as numb as his heart (another shock!) which usually only occurred after way too much drinking, but usually he just retired to Serena’s grandmother’s summer home with S and slept through to morning, just as he had done last night, though the drinking was much lighter and he didn’t wake up with an awful hangover.
With Serena already gone by the time he made an appearance, Chuck was once again left with filling his day with boring activities he wasn’t particularly enjoying. Sure, Eric was a breath of fresh air every once in awhile, but even the young Van der Woodsen had his own plans. That morning Chuck had been all alone and desperate to leave Celia’s place, so he’d made a trip to Starbucks, hoping that by the time he returned that someone would be home or that he could come up with something to do. What he found as he began the walk up the drive (he didn’t always need his driver) was not what he had expected at all. He should have thought about it as the car backing away passed him, but the thought didn’t cross his mind at all. He saw cars like that all the time carting people from location to location. As far as he was concerned it could have been anyone; Lily, hell, even Bart, coming to join the rest of the family. Who knew? But Blair Waldorf? That had not been, at all, the person he was expecting.
Certainly she was there for Serena, why else would she be knocking on Celia Rhodes’ door? Clearly she didn’t know this was where Chuck was staying, but how could she? There was no way on earth that Serena discussed him with Blair, and if she did chances were it was nothing positive. S would do most anything to please Blair, usually, especially if it was something simple like trash talking him. So, what did he do now? “Wandering back to Wonderland, Waldorf? It missed you so.”
Oh yeah… that.
