overall • Ethan's story begins on March 15 when she was born to Henri Parche and Melanie Robuie, eleven months after they married. Henri Parche was known all around the world, and still is, as the world's most infamous soccer keeper. He played for France for twenty years before retiring when his son was eight. He lead France to six world cups and many close matches. Being this famous and successful made him a household name in many countries and made it hard for him to find a good, steady wife. Henri did manage to eventually find Melanie Robuie, who was a British model when they met in Vienna, Italy. Now primarily a beautiful housewife, Melanie keeps herself busy working as a photographer. She always enjoyed being in front of the camera, but being behind it keeps her from falling into a housewife depression.
Ethan, in his parent's eyes, has always been the perfect son. Intelligent, athletic, and even good-natured, which Melanie feared that Ethan might lack, Ethan has always strived to make his parents happy. He grew up doing well in school and succeeding at every obstacle that was placed before him. He was an outstanding athlete, but found that he wasn't nearly as great at soccer as his father. This came as a great let-down for Henri, who hoped that his son would one day play professionally. He did, however, outshine his competion, and continued to play. When he was eighteen, he was offered scholarships to play at universities around the world. He eventually settled on NYU, who had a reputation for producing great professional athletes.
Ethan, in his first two years at NYU, learned many things. He learned that women come in all shapes and sizes, personalities and temperments; he learned that Americans are generally lazy in comparison to the other countries he had known; and he learned that soccer was not his only passion. Swimming, reading, and getting to know people were suddenly important. He also learned that the fact that he was French helped with the ladies, as he was seen as foriegn and desirable, and he realized that American politics was far more complicated than other countries. Ethan, though he didn't really know it, was growing up to be an open-minded man. The only thing he was lacking, that he knew of, was the perfect woman.

"I dunno know Hermione, maybe he didn't see us?" Harry said, aware that Ron had been in his own little world since Harry had arrived in the common room. "The meeting is two Saturdays from now. And no, I haven't figured anything out. Dumbledore only showed the memory of Voldemort's ancestors, remember? There isn't much more to figure out until our next meeting." Harry was getting a little irritated with Hermione; why didn't she understand that Dumbledore wasn't telling him everything?
Harry saw that Ron gave up on his homework before Hermione did, because he was facing away from the fire, while she was facing away from Ron. Harry watched as a few first years (some of which Harry noticed were much smaller than he had been as a first year) ran up to Ron, the prefect, and began asking questions. Harry suppressed a laugh at the look on Ron's face; surely Ron was picturing what the twins would say if they saw his brother being a kind of role model for the first years. Then, before Ron could take two more steps, Lavender Brown was standing very close and talking very quietly to him. This, Harry could tell, only made Ron kind of irritated. He eventually made it over to them, and fortunately, Hermione hadn't noticed Ron's run-in with Lavender.
But it was easy to see that Hermione was feeling irritated herself, though Harry wasn't sure why. In fact, it looked like even she didn't know. Harry glared at Hermione for her statement. "Fretting? Why would I be fretting? What with Voldemort, Dumbledore, Malfoy, and G-- " Harry had to stop himself, and it took every ounce of his wit to cover up this momentary lapse in his judgement. " -- and Gryffindor's chances of finding two beaters even remotely as talented as Fred and George... oh no, Hermione, I'm not worried a bit." Harry figured that his cover-up went over relatively well. Ron would have no idea that Harry's mind was on his sister, only Hermione would be that quick. And even still, it wasn't as if he had said her name. That would have been disastrous. Only Harry could know that Gabriel Dasoni was secretly hitting on Ginny, and only Susan would know that Harry was secretly very, very protective of Ginny. Harry turned his thoughts back to Ron, and then recounted what the letter said to Ron before Hermione or Ron could ask Harry about his slight brain stutter.
