Another reason why she left was because her parents got a divorce and her father asked if she wanted him to have custody of her, so he got it. And they moved out of country. The baby was dead before it was born.

Milan Nicole Prescott was born into the world at 10:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day. She was born in one of the hospitals in new york, and from then on she had a good life, or so she thought. Milan had an older brother that she was close to, but when she was older he got into a car crash by some drunk driver. Milan grew up with Ryan, Brynne and Harry so the group was always tightly attatched at the hip. Brynne and Harry were always together, and Brynne had the idea that Milan and Ryan would make the cutest couple ever but for awhile she only saw him as a friend. Then things began to change and they finally got together and had a close relationship that was ended their senior year of high school. Before Ryan, Milan did date a few people outside their circle of friends but it was never anything serious like what she had with him.
Everything was fine for her it seemed until her parents started fighting more often and her father was away from home more because of the war, he had to be there. After her and Ryan broke up, her parents decided to get a divorce too. Milan had a hard time accepting this event. Most kids have their parents divorced at a young age, not when they were sixteen or seventeen. At least nobody she knew had their parents split up at that age. Milan started remaining closed off from her friends, especially when Ryan and Brynne got together after them. Jealous and upset about her parents divorce, Milan turned to the other friend left, Harrison Roberts. Her and Harry were never as close as the others were to her, but she trusted him. He was one of those guys you could just go to and not worry about him judging you, though most girls got intimidated by him and never really saw that he really wasn't a judging type of guy.
She turned to him, though he was going through some problems of his own, his parents, and she could tell he was struggling and trying to be a good sport about Brynne and Ryan. He never admitted he was jealous of them, though Milan got that feeling. Her plans of telling him her family problems had changed and they just settled for drinking in silence. After awhile they both began to act really stupid because of their being drunk, and just laughing at anything. After doing some goofy stuff, Harry made things serious again when he told her what was up with him, and the two kissed in the moment of things. Everybody knows that the best friend shouldn't hook up with the boyfriend after they were broken up, though that depends on who broke up with who and when. Harry and Milan were both single, and things got to get a little out of hand for them.
Milan lost her virginity to Harry, though the two didn't have any memory of that night afterwards due to how drunk they had been. Almost a month or two later, around Christmas time, she realized she was pregnant after a missed period and a test. The test had to be wrong, so milan skipped school to see the doctor. The results from his tests told her that she indeed was a month and a half pregnant. Frozen in shock and fear, Milan began wondering how that had happened. She hadn't even been with anybody since Ryan because she had hopes that the two would get back together, that the two were just in a bumpy road but they would find their way back. Then the night she had spent with Harry hit her hard.
She felt sick and ashamed of herself. How could she have let herself sleep with her best friends ex, the one that everybody thought would marry one day? She couldn't face herself after that nor did she really know how to be a friend to Brynne. What her and harry had done was a mistake, and she didn't want her friend to know and feel the same feelings she already had on herself. And she didn't want Harry to have to go through the drama of having a kid in high school, that would ruin his future plans his parents already had for him. Brynne was supposed to be in them, she knew that they would never accept that she was the other girl taking her place.
Her father had to go overseas, though this time he was moving over there for good. He was always close with Milan, and Milan jumped at the chance and said she wanted to move with him. She could go through this somewhere else, where nobody else knew her, or would know about her parents. She could have the baby and then give it up for adoption because she was in high school and there was no way she was ready to be a parent.
Scared about this decision, Milan knew this was the right one to make, though selfish. She had to leave without saying goodbye since her father was leaving that night. After the move, Milan started a high school elsewhere in France, where her father lived. She began to get attatched to the baby growing inside her and found out it was a baby boy. Countless times she caught herself picking up the phone to call Brynne or Harry, but all those times she stopped herself. Complications rose after graduation when Milan found out her baby was a miscarriage, and she had to go through the trama of having c-section and deliver a stillborn baby.
This was very hard for her, and her grief hit her hard. For an entire month, she wasn't able to do anything but lay around. Her grieving soon turned into depression once she started college and her father realized she needed help. Milan wouldn't go without finishing her course for her journalism degree, because she did want to be a writer. But she reluctantly started seeing a counselor and stayed at a facility for depressed people. That place didn't help her at all for a year, though she finally recovered about a month ago and is doing better now.
Milan knew that she would never be fully recovered though unless she went back to her friends in manhattan. She spent awhile trying to contact them again, but then she decided to just head back. beforehand though she got a job as a model and decided to take that on fulltime, she wouldn't return to college for the time being. It is a little weird being back in the city since Ryan now has another girl, whom Milan doesnt really like from the start, and Harry and Brynne are engaged. Them being engaged makes this situation twice harder to go through, especially since shes happy for them and wants them to marry.
