brynne quickly signed off the chat. lightly shutting the laptop before wandering into her closet. she was going to meet jake. she was curious as to what all the secrecy was about. sure he was some guy she didn't really know, and most people weren't exactly as open as bee was, but why be so secretive about something? next week it would probably be posted all over the stupid gossip blog. she sighed lightly and grabbed a sweater off one of the hangers in her closet. it was pretty chilly outside and tribeca was rather far. she slid the sweater on enjoying its warmth. she stepped into her flats, pulled on her jacket and headed towards the door, flicking off the light switches as she passed. she wandered out the door, pulling it shut tightly behind her before locking it.
with that she headed down the elevator to the first floor. she sent a wave in the direction of george the doorman as she headed out into the chilly air. it was rather cold out, considering it was december. the cold was nipping at her face, but she managed to flag down a taxi before it got too cold. she muttered out her destination to the cabby, the cab lurching forward in a normal new york driving fashion. this driver was quite a bit worse than the normal driving, it made her a little nauseous, though bee had gotten used to that feeling as of recent. she watched out the window, letting her mind wander a bit to make the ride go faster. she glanced up a few minutes later realizing she was at the right destination. "uhh, here's fine."she said to the driver, he halted the car. she handed the cash in his direction then slid out the door, happy to finally be out of the taxi.
she headed onto the sidewalk, spotting the red brick building that jake had described. she let a 'mmm..' slip from her mouth as she felt the baby kick. "yeah i know, i know. that was a horrible taxi ride." she muttered, placing her left hand on her stomach a moment. she then crossed her arms and headed towards the building. by the time she got to the door, she was rather freezing. the warmth of the inside of the building was so nice. fourth floor. she thought to herself, recalling his directions. she headed up the stairs to the fourth floor, then headed out into the hallway. apartment six. she looked around at the numbers a moment before spotting apartment six. hopefully this is it.. she thought to herself, knocking lightly on the door. "its bee..."she called out to the door.

jake buried his face in his hands as he watched 'bee' sign out of the chat. what had he done? he was going to tell his secret, it was going to be all over the gossip blog. he and greg would be a joke, the laughing stock for keeping ted a secret. jake just didn't want people to know he had a two year old though, he just didn't. jake clicked out of the chat before standing up and going to the couch. ted had fallen asleep there, watching tv with greg. greg then went off to who-knows-where. possibly visiting their parents. or maybe he had gone to a club or something. either way, greg was not there and jake was happy about that. he did not want his brother their when he revealed his secret about ted. jake brushed his son's hair lightly with his hand, waiting for the girl to arrive. he watched his son's chest lightly rise and fall as he breathed, slept in peaceful dreams. i love you ted. you're my baby boy. he said softly, leaning down and pressing his lips to his baby's head. he would wake him up whenever the girl got there.
jake began picking up random stuff strewn across the apartment by greg and ted; jake always cleaned up after himself. he went to the small kitchen after he finished tidying up and opened the fridgerator. he took out a two liter of coke and poured some into a cup of ice. he took a sip before walking out and looking at ted once more. he was so peaceful, not knowing the trouble going on in his father's head. jake went into his bedroom and to his closet, taking off his jacket and hanging it up. now, all he wore was a white t-shirt and jeans, with white socks poking out from the bottom of the jeans. there was no backing out of revealing ted to 'bee' now. she was going to find out, and he would just have to hope that she did not tell anyone about him. jake went back into the living room and to his son, rubbing him gently through the blanket covering his small body. jake put a hand to his eye as a small tear escaped.
when the knock came from the door, jake looked up. it's bee... the voice carried through the door, just barely though, and he looked back down at ted. he rubbed his son once more, a bit harder than he had just a moment ago. ted, buddy, wake up. i have a guest for you. he spoke, as ted's eyes slowly opened. daddy, i nuh wan' wake up... he moaned, but jake picked him up anyways and carried him on his side as he went to the door. jake took a deep breath and opened the door. there she stood, the beautiful blonde that was bee. she was pretty, and he smiled as he stood aside. hey! come on in. he greeted, closing the door after she had come in. he walked near the couch, turning to look at her. ted, say hello. he said to his son. hewwo. i's ted. he said softly from his post on jake's side.
jake smiled at his son before looking at bee. would you like a drink or something? he asked, grabbing his own cup and taking a drink. he set ted back down on the couch. ted stood on the cushions, clinging to the edge for balance. he just stared at his father and the blonde girl, blinking. well, this is the secret. ted. he announced, smirking lightly while setting his cup back down.

brynne was not sure what to expect. here she was standing at some guys door she hardly knew. he seemed like a nice guy, but then again so do a lot of crazy ax-murderers. bee was a curious girl, and it had gotten her in trouble in the past, but right now she felt good about this. jake was a guy she went to school with. she had probably seen him around campus or something and just didn't know it was him. she smiled lightly as he opened the door. hey! come on in. "hey."she said offering a little wave as she stepped inside his apartment. ted, say hello. bee looked around a moment before spotting the little boy. hewwo. i's ted.
bee smiled down to the little boy. "hello ted!"she said. she always did have a soft spot for children. now that she was on her way to becoming a mother herself, she found kids to be even more adorable than before. would you like a drink or something? bee glanced up to jake and shook her head. "oh, no thank you."she said. she looked back to the little boy. he didn't look too old, probably around twoish. she watched him a moment, glancing up at jake, noticing how similar the two looked. her gaze was directed back at jake as he spoke of ted being the secret. that baffled her slightly. "your son is your secret?"she asked raising her eyebrows curiously. she found it a bit odd that he wanted to keep him a secret. she could tell just by the way jake looked at the kid that he meant a lot to him. why would he want to keep it a secret? bee could understand keeping him a secret at first, but at this age? sooner or later people were going to notice he had a kid. there had to be a reason. "if you don't mind me asking... why keep him a secret?"she asked. this wasn't just a conversational kind of question, she really wanted to know.

jake smiled at how well bee connected with ted. she would be a great mother, seeing as how she seemed to be pregnant. he wished he had someone to be like that to ted. he needed to have a motherly figure in his life. is you gonna be my mommy? a small voice chiped from the couch, and jake's eyes widened. um, ted, let daddy talk to his friend. he said softly to ted. he then turned to be and frowned an apology to her. yeah, ted is my secret. jake answered, taking another drink of his coke. he then turned back to his little boy. he was so sweet, so innocent, yet he was the biggest secret of jake's life. he wished it wasn't so, wished he wasn't the way he was and that he would just tell the world. but he couldn't. he didn't want people knowing that he had a two year old son when he was only twenty-one. if you don't mind me asking... why keep him a secret? he didn't want to answer, but he was going to anyways. because, i don't want people to know that i had a baby at nineteen. i didn't even mean to. i got a call one day from an old girlfriend, telling me how she had gotten pregnant during one of our last 'sessions'. she had had ted and was giving him to me. he's never met her. i've always wanted to find someone to be a motherly figure to him. he explained, trying not to make eye contact with bee as he did.

brynne watched ted, smiling at how cute he was. is you gonna be my mommy? bee giggled at him. "no sweetie, but i can be your friend."she said looking down at the child. she shrugged it off as he apologized to her. no need for jake to apologize. ted was a kid, a very cute kid. they say silly things and bee found it to be cute. yeah, ted is my secret this brought about her curiosity again. why was what she wanted to know.
she watched him carefully as he looked to his son before answering her. because, i don't want people to know that i had a baby at nineteen. i didn't even mean to. i got a call one day from an old girlfriend, telling me how she had gotten pregnant during one of our last 'sessions'. she had had ted and was giving him to me. he's never met her. i've always wanted to find someone to be a motherly figure to him. bee understood. she didn't tell people when she had first gotten pregnant, especially since it was her ex's child. she knew it was hard to tell people things, but she had figured, mine as well shoot her reputation and be happy. things had been so much better since she stopped caring about what other people thought. "i understand why you want to keep him a secret, but did you ever think that maybe people won't care that you had a kid at nineteen? i mean i understand having a good image is nice, but things are really a lot better when you don't care what people think." she said honestly. there were more important things than what other people think of you. "and maybe if you told people, you'd have an easier time finding him a motherly figure."she suggested. she wasn't necessarily telling him that he should tell people, she was more of just making a suggestion. it was his life, his son. he could do whatever he wanted, bee just felt bad for ted. even though jake was trying to do the best for his son, in a few years ted might not see it as that way.

jake smiled as bee said that she would be ted's friend. the smile that appeared on his son's face just gave jake that warm, fatherly feeling from the inside of his chest and he kept his smile as he just kind of stared at ted's face. jake had the sudden urge to go and sit with ted, just sit there with him. come on, sit down. i'm not an axe murderer, i promise. he said, chuckling lightly while moving around the couch. he flopped down next to ted, pulling him into his lap. jake began tickling ted, raising his eyebrows and chuckling while ted squirmed and laughed loudly. da-daddy stop! that ti-tickles! he squealed, jake making sure he had a good grip without hurting his little boy.
jake looked up as bee spoke again, letting ted go. he still had a couple of giggles escaping from his tiny mouth and jake couldn't stop smiling. i understand why you want to keep him a secret, but did you ever think that maybe people won't care that you had a kid at nineteen? i mean i understand having a good image is nice, but things are really a lot better when you don't care what people think. jake raised his eyebrows a little before opening his mouth. i know, but, i don't know how to tell, other than gossip. but, i don't want to gossip about myself. he stated, scratching the top of his head. yeah, it could. bee, do you think that you could maybe help me? gossip would be the best way to get it around, but i don't want to gossip about myself. he asked, looking at ted and brushing back the boy's auburn color hair. i love you ted. he whispered, eyes on his son.

brynne chuckled as he invited her to come sit down, mentioning the part about not being an ax murderer. "that's what they all say."she said jokingly as she moved to take a seat on the other side of the couch. she watched him as he pulled ted into his lap and started tickling him. she smiled at this. that's what she wanted to be like. bee had never really been the greatest with kids as she had never really been around them too much, but she hoped that she would be like that when her kid was born. she wanted to be a good mother, unlike her own mother. she couldn't even remember the last time her own mother had spent more than a few hours with her. bee let a little laugh come from her before she spoke again.
she was rather surprised when his response came, but she was glad that he at least agreed with her. i know, but, i don't know how to tell, other than gossip. but, i don't want to gossip about myself.yeah, it could. bee, do you think that you could maybe help me? gossip would be the best way to get it around, but i don't want to gossip about myself. bee thought for a moment before speaking. "well, i was thinking something a little more classy than gossip. take ted out with you, it doesn't matter where. take him to meet some of your friends, classmates, whoever. i've got a few friends who would probably love to meet you and ted, and in the process you could probably get some more friends. my fiance harrison would love to meet you and ted, he loves kids." she said. taking ted places was probably the easiest way for people to know. bee could just as easily tell people to get the word out, but jake taking ted places was probably the best way. "plus, well its not normally a good thing, but in your case, if you take ted out and about, the stupid mad hatter gossip blog is sure to write about you, and get the word out that way too."she said. "i'd say just stop hiding him. take him with you places, and if people have a problem with it then, so what. show people you're proud of your son, like you obviously are."she said. every parent was proud of their kid. showing it was the hard part. jake obviously loved ted very much. maybe he just needed a little help showing people.
notes , sorry its kind of rambley. i'm a bit out of it today lol
