father • William, 43, lawyer
siblings • none
pets • none
other family • none of importance
overall • Theres only one main thing that defines Devon's life. Which was the loss of a best friend. It was high school, which alone impacted her a lot. Her life was never exciting. it was mainly full of trouble and she liked to scream in authority's face. When she hit high school it got worse. Only one person seemed to mellow out her attitude, able to keep her in line. Too bad she lost that half in a car accident. Devon will never forget the morning she found out, or the week after that. It was the craziest week of her entire life.
Devon's parents decided to move after the accident, figuring it'd be much better on Devon. But she never lost her temper or her rebellion. Without the other person, she seemed out of control. They moved to New York. The worst place for someone like Devon. She hit the parties, moved on the social ladder. Her parents gave up on trying to keep her tame, and let her run loose, hoping she'd learn from a lesson. But devon already learned her lesson; life was too short and precious to let go.
Much to her parents surprise though, she graduated with decent scores and moved onto college. All on her own. They didn't have to nag or ask, she simple went. She found her passion in photojournalism and plans to find her future in that direction. She still doesn't keep in line though. After all, she just turned 21. Thats there the fun starts!

God, he was finally back in town. Devon shook her head a little, still irritated that he had upped and left without telling her. She was his best friend, right? Well, she thought so. But then again, being friends with Jack Bailey was not simple like every other friendship she'd had. And probably nothing like the ones she'd have in the future. Sometimes she'd be amazed at how cute he was and let her mind wander off. She was a human after all. But then the next second he could do something that made her.. well not disgusted, but awkward for even thinking such thoughts. But she wasn't going to lie- she got jealous when he eyed some other girl for too long around her. Which was probably why Devon sat on the opposite side of the room from the other girls that would fall into Jack's 'hot list'. She rolled her eyes and stood up from the couch after a moment to grab a drink. She'd been here for nearly an hour and he still hadn't given her a hug. She was about to leave when his eyes met hers. She scowled a little, "Oh now you say hi." She stuck her tongue out stubbornly and crossed her arms, planning on giving him a hard time. But he pulled something out of his pocket and swung it in her face. keys. she felt her jaw drop as she reached up for the keys and looked at the logo that was seared into the key.
"Jack Bailey! You did not get me a car!" She would have tackled him right there, but she was too shocked and wanted to see the car. Mustang. No way. She was a killer for hot rods. It was just another boyish side of her that she had. She didn't mind it though, it was how Jack and her met- tackle football. Good times. She'd been looking for an excuse the whole game to get near him. The chance came when she was able to tackle him for the pig skin. She looked over at Jack when he took her hand but didn't move. She felt her eyes narrow a little, about to tell him to keep his mind on something above the waistline. He was squeezing her hand which really just told her that his mind was else where and he was trying to control himself. She half expected him to just let her hand go and attack someone across the room. She could see that. She tugged her hand out of his grip and rolled her eyes. She knew there was close to nothing that could get his mind on track again for a while.
She jumped up and climbed onto his back, impatient, and wrapped her legs around his waist, "Who are you staring at Bailey?" She asked, letting her eyes wander over to where he was looking. Ahh, Anise. She let out a soft snort, "Tapped it already, right? Want more, eh? She as good as every guy says?" Devon shook her head and poked his ribs lightly. She was just kidding of course. She didn't know Anise, at all, except for what she heard once in a while. And the fact that Jack had eyes on her just gave her confirmation that Anise liked to have fun. Great.
"I want to see my pretty present." She waited for him to start moving to his garage. If he didn't, she'd ditch the party and go see for herself. Jack was her best friend though and hoped that he'd at least have the decency to show it to her. He'd rarely failed her before. He was getting the hang of the friend thing. Hell, no one was perfect though. She was almost damn sure that she'd sacrifice more than he would if it came down to it. But Devon understood it. Jack was just Jack. No one could change that. God, she hoped he fell in love hard real soon and a few lessons. She rested her head on his shoulder and just waited, "I told you not to spend huge bucks on me." She almost bit his shoulder blade but refrained and just shifted her head to let her chin rest on his shoulder, "Tell me if I get heavy." She laughed a little. There were plenty of times that Jack gave her a piggy-back ride only to just drop her. Just because. But there were also times that Devon was cruel to Jack. They were even then, eh? She remembered a few times that his hormones got out of hand and she'd leave him hanging. That was always rude, but no matter how hot jack was, she'd never do all that with him. She knew there was line they'd never cross.
