overall • Nicole was born on Feburary Fourteenth twenty years ago, the day she considers to be Single's awareness day. Everybody would always tell her the same stuff about being born on this day, and so she likes to tune them out whenever they do so, Valentine's Day is just another day to her. When she was little, she really loved her birthday being on this day but when she got older, it became almost dismissed to her.
Nicole was born in New York City, a year before her younger brother Ryan was and likes being the oldest of the two. Though as far as siblings go, the two never really fought much, they were actually kind of close, and before Nicole moved with her parents to France, she would keep an eye on him but was always a laid back sort of responsible older sister.
Nicole moved back to New York City a few years ago for college and to be back with her older friends and Ryan, she missed the city too much. Once you live in it it seems like you can't ever leave really. She's had one relationship but they parted on bad terms so she hasn't really been able to be in a relationship since then, claiming that she's too busy to be in one. She's dated around a few times though.

Innocent, pah, I’ll bet she’s never been innocent a day in her life, Lincoln had written to himself on the instant messenger screen after Brynne had gone offline. Or he thought she had gone offline, he wasn’t too sure, hence why he had continued the IM. After bidding a carefree goodbye, he logged off and went over to his closet thinking he might change. He had about twenty or so minutes before the Chinese food would be ready at the takeout place, and it was only five minutes away from where he lived. Thank god he didn’t have to live in the dorms all the time, his parents lived nearby but he still wanted to have the on campus living experience. He just came home every so often, but that night wasn’t one of the nights unfortunately. Most of his outfits he would choose to go out were at home, and Linc didn’t have much time to go home. Relax buddy, it’s Bee, there’s no need for you to worry about what you are wearing, he thought to himself as he absentmindedly shifted through his shirts hanging up. He finally decided to just throw on a green shirt with his leather jacket thrown over it since it was a bit chilly that night. He was glad that they were finally hanging out and not just talking about maybe doing so. Lincoln didn’t like to say they should do things- he was a doer, he liked to actually follow through with stuff he said he would do.
After fiveish minutes he was finally ready, though his stomach was a bit jumbly as he got into his car to drive to the takeout place. If he didn’t know any better, he would say that he was acting like this because he still had feelings for his old girlfriend, but the truth was he didn’t know any better. Lincoln had only experienced love one time, though he thought that if things lasted longer, he would’ve loved Brynne. Maybe he did though. Things were all cool between the two of them while they were together, but then stuff got in the way and their lives got busier. They had met up for coffee, even though Lincoln wasn’t really a big fan of coffee. He just drank it because it did give him energy, and some of it did smell good. It was just like any old day for the two of them, but when he first met her eyes that day he knew why she had wanted to meet him that morning. That feeling had made him grow cold with dread on the spot, but at the same time he understood as he met her. “We’re over aren’t we?” He had asked her seriously before she had even spoken. Most of the time Lincoln liked to kid around and was almost never serious in conversations but that moment he had been. Because he had been a mind reader at that moment their breakup had seemed like it had been a mutual agreement.
But had it been though?
He wondered as he finally paid the cashier behind the counter for the food. He wasn’t sure. But tonight wasn’t going to be about that, he concluded as he got back in his car with the food. It was going to be about how a guy and a girl could actually have been good friends before a relationship and come out as best friends still. His life really would be so empty without Brynne Golightly in his life, so he was determined for the two to still be in each others lives.
He finally reached her house ten minutes later and pulled into her driveway, just like he had done several times before. This time wouldn’t really be that different, he thought to himself as he walked up the sidewalk to her house and then knocked, looking around. They were still the same Brynne and Lincoln, just not Brynne and Lincoln. After he knocked, he heard her voice shout ‘coming!’ and didn’t have to wait long at the doorstep by the time she had opened the door and smiled. He had opened his mouth to greet her, but Brynne had readily beat him to it, being the competitive girl she was. “Hello mr. chinesedelivererperson,” she greeted him, causing him to laugh lightly before bowing. “And hello to you, Mademoiselle Golightly,” he said, switching to a French accent and held out the bag of food to her by his index finger.
