GET DOWN TO GET DOWN LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN ALL NIGHT
the door of his dorm room made the familiar clicking sound as it closed behind him, signaling to his room mate that he was back. the table beside the door quickly became the receptacle for finn's keys, wallet and camera. he had just spent a good three hours working on a photo shoot for some new up and coming fashion designer. even though finn was currently attending nyu and majoring in photography, his career was already beginning to launch, mostly due to his family connections and his easy charm. he had never had a problem convincing someone to let him shoot their ads or whatever they needed, his words were so smooth and reasonable and his charm unmatchable as well as undeniable. so that was how the twenty year old student landed the job of shooting a fashion spread to be featured in one of those moderately well known magazines.
he gave a brief nod and hello to his room mate before heading into his bedroom, rubbing his tired eyes. the job had been excruciatingly long and he was just ready to unwind. he rolled over in bed and grabbed his laptop, about to turn it on when his room mate burst in and told him that a bunch of people were getting together to go clubbing, and did he want to go? hell yes. that was enough to get finn up out of bed and into the shower. about five minutes later he stepped out and grabbed his towel, making sure that it wasn't his room mate's. his room mate might not mind, but finn definitely did. he wasn't sure why, but he was a bit of a neat freak and liked for everything to be in its place. and get used by the right person. he dried off and ran his fingers through his shaggy dark brown hair, deciding it looked as nice as it was going to.
clothes were simple, just a plain white tee with a ralph lauren button up on top, buttoned about two-thirds. next came a pair of diesel jeans that weren't exactly baggy, but more of a relaxed fit. due to his prep school upbringings, finn always tended to look pulled together and not like a complete slob. it was never really intentional, just a happy accident. his room mate had alreayd left but had texted him the place they were all meeting up. only fifteen minutes after he entered the door, finn found himself grabbing his keys and wallet and heading back out. with his hands in his pockets, he decided to walk to the club, not bothering with a taxi. it was the newest "it" club, filled to the brim with hot twenty somethings and sometimes a bit younger, all clamoring to soak up the fame of the place. in a month it would be empty, no doubt. finn cut through the line, flashed a smile and his name and was admitted with out question. the club was packed, as he'd predicted, from wall to wall. the music pounded out of the speakers and was almost shaking the foundation of the entire building, but that only seemed to encourage people more. finn's deep blues sought out his friends while also checking out his possibilities. it was looking like a good night.

seattle cocked her head to the side as she looked at herself in the mirror. well this was as good as it was going to get. she, unlike most the people around here, was not going to be clubbing in anything designer. well i guess you could call it designer. she was wearing a dress she had designed and made herself. sea didn't have the money for anything designer, hell she barely afforded her rent control apartment in brooklyn. she designed her own clothes, and shopped for vintage stuff. it was cheap and it worked for her. she shook her head a moment looking in the mirror to make sure her hair was going to stay up. after all, clubbing usually involved dancing, and she knew more than most that keeping hair up while dancing was difficult. after adjusting her hair slightly, she headed out of her room and towards the front door where her bag and her shoes were sitting. she glanced through the bag making sure she had her phone, wallet and her metro card, then flicked off all the lights.
she took one more look around before heading out the apartment door, locking it behind her. she headed down several flights of stairs before finally walking out of the building. thankfully her shoes were comfortable. the walk was probably going to be far. three blocks to the subway station, quite a long subway ride into manhattan, then another five blocks to the club. why she had decided to go there she didn't know. she should have stayed local and gone to one of the clubs here in brooklyn, but she had heard about this brand new club while on her closing shift at starbucks, and figured she mine as well try it out.
as she headed down the stairs to the subway station, she swiped her metro card and went through the turnstile. she had gotten so used to using it every day, as it was her transportation to her classes, and her part-time job at starbucks, that everything came almost subconsciously. the actual subway ride was pretty long, but luckily it wasnt too crowded right now. she had avoided the rush hour crowds, and the late night crowds. she was relieved when the train finally came to a stop. it was boring sitting there with a bunch of people you didn't know. she exited the train with a few other people, and made her way up to the streets of manhattan.
the five blocks to the club came pretty easily, but the waiting in line to get into the club took forever. she hated lines, but it wasn't like she was on a VIP list or could slip the bouncer some money. she was just a regular person, who got in by waiting in line. after at least a half an hour in line, she made her way to the door, flashing her ID, fake ID to be exact. she was legally allowed into the club, but if she wanted drinks or anything she was two years shy of it. the bouncer glanced over it and let her in. looks-wise, she could easily pass as twenty-one. the club itself was packed when she walked in. packed to the point where it was hard to walk without bumping into people. of course, with her luck, she bumped right into someone while she was too busy looking around. "oh i'm so sor-"she cut herself off when she recognized a familiar face. "oh finn!"she said, quite happy to see him. she didn't know too many people around here, and finn was good company. "didn't expect to see you here."she commented. she wasn't surprised to find him in a club, but the fact that she ran into him was surprising. manhattan was a big place. finding him of all people was a surprise.

GET DOWN TO GET DOWN LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN ALL NIGHT
bodies were everywhere. some were guys, much like himself, dressed casually, with their eyes on one thing and one thing only. the women of course. as for the women, well, they were all dressed for clubbing, the typical outfits included anything short, tight fitting and high heels. not that finn was going to complain, at all. it took a lot of the guess work out of picking up girls. now he was able to clearly see what he was getting in to, both literally and figuratively, when he danced with them. finn had had his share of good nights and bad and was now more adept at avoiding the bad nights. those usually involved either crazy girls or girls that he actually wanted to keep as friends. because unfortunately, due to this damn addiction, as soon as he saw them in this kind of setting, the attraction grew to the point where he could not stand not sleeping with them. so they would both give in to temptation and then both feel weird and awkward the next day, and that would be the end of that friendship, or whatever the relationship could be termed as.
and that was why, when he felt someone else crash into him and he grabbed their arm to steady them, he bit back his harsh words and almost grimaced for a moment, replacing it quickly with a small smile. seattle was not someone he had anticipated running into, nor did he particularly wish to. they had been out to dinner once before and it had gone wonderfully. she was gorgeous and funny and charming, as was he, he was sure of it. but now, seeing her in the club, dressed like she was, he couldn't fight the urges he felt. he hated himself for doing it, but knew it was unavoidable. his lips curled upwards into a charming grin as he greeted her, his mild swedish accent intertwining itself around his smooth tone,
hello to you too seattle. you know, if you'd wanted to talk to me, you could've just done so. no need to bowl me over.
a twinkle came into his brilliant blue eyes as he flirted with her. he hooked his arm through hers and said, cocking his brow,
a drink?
and without awaiting her response, he led her through the crowd towards the bar, which was not-so-conveniently placed at the opposite end of the club. making his way through the mass of people wasn't so easy, but with a strong arm and charming smile, as well as the air of importance and good breeding that he seemed to carry without knowing, he led her through safely. to the bartender he called out his order of a vodka tonic. he turned to seattle, regarding her with a slight smile, letting her order. ------------------------------------ status! finished tagged! open outfit! shirt music! count 'em one, two, three ; the maine notes! yaaay for us finally rping!
