throwing one last glance at his over-priced laptop, finn closed it with a small smile forming slowly on his lips. he had just successfully invited the newest girl, felicity, over to his dorm. she was going to bring cookies and he was going to give her a crash course on surviving new york city. this was going to be good. felicity struck him, and he was sure everyone else, as a total good girl. finn had come across his fair share of them, and he could say that when they left him, they had always lost a bit of their innocence, if not a big chunk. he wasn't sure how willing felicity would be for that, he'd have to see. he did think he could help her survive the city though. while he hadn't been in new york city for more than two months, he had lived his whole life in the city. he spent years darting around from stockholm to amsterdam to london to glasgow. the people and places might change, but the rules and behavior never did. finn was a city boy, born and raised and it was the only place he felt comfortable. he loved the city and he was pretty sure the feeling was mutual.
he shouted out to see if his room mate was around, but luckily he had gone out for the night. glad to have found that out, finn placed his laptop on his bedside table and slid off of his bed, going over to grab clothes. he tossed off his dirty clothes into the proper hamper and then opened his dresser drawer to select a classic ralph lauren rugby followed by a pair of loose fitting khaki pants to match. he briefly considered the fact that his outfit, all designer label, probably cost about the same as some people's monthly rent. but he just shrugged it off and went into the common area of the dorm to make sure that it was nice enough for company. he grimaced as he saw his room mate's dirty things. he grabbed them and tossed them into his room, not caring. the rest of the dorm was essentially spotless. you could say that finn was a bit of a neat freak, he liked for everything to be in its place. the dorm itself was well furnished with mostly modern furniture. in fact, the only thing older than himself were the mass of books that lined one wall completely. he often had a lot of time on his hands and those novels were what got him through some days.
running a hand through his hair, which was a dark brown color and had grown out a little bit too much by now, finn decided he'd best just wait for her to arrive. he pulled the novel, the things they carried, off of the shelf and sat down to read it. after a few minutes though, he founds himself a tad thirsty. going to the fridge he grabbed a bottle of champagne and popped it, having perfected the art of skillfully opening the bottle without spraying it everywhere. he poured himself a glass, and set out one for felicity as well, although he doubted she would drink it. he shrugged to himself and took a sip of the rich liquid, savoring the taste as it bubbled on his tongue and slid easily down his throat, leaving a trail of warmth in its wake. sipping it easily, finn returned to the long l-shaped green couch to read while he awaited to gorgeous but innocent girl's arrival.
